(Wilber, NE)  While studying abroad, an exchange student from Italy had his cell phone stolen.

The incident occurred on February 10th in the locker room at the Wilber-Clatonia High School Gymnasium.

Recently in Venango, Perkins County, Nebraska, a major burglary and theft occurred between the dates of January 19, 2013 and January 20, 2013. A large volume of Milwaukee, Skil, Napa, and DeWalt portable power tools and accessories were taken, along with Lincoln welding equipment and cables, four Dell laptop computers, a 42” Sony flatscreen TV, a 2,000-lb overhead winch, and other miscellaneous shop items. The estimated value of the stolen equipment is around $20,000. The Perkins County Sheriff’s Office is seeking information regarding the theft or transfer of the missing items.

DOUGLAS D. OLSON (DOB 11/6/1953) is wanted on 2 outstanding warrants; one in Custer County, NE and one in Valley County, NE as well as wanted for questioning on other, unrelated cases. Valley County, NE is willing to extradite if OLSON is found. OLSON is believed to be living in Nebraska, however, has been known to occasionally live in Southern South Dakota. A 1992 John Deere Model 4960 row crop tractor was parked on the Marlin Nutt farm property at 75690 County Road 348 south of Elsie, Nebraska. As indicated by the victim, sometime between Friday, May 20, 2011 and Tuesday, May 24, 2011, the tractor was vandalized by one or more indviduals who placed sandy soil into the diesel engine’s oil filler spout. This caused the engine to seize, and resulted in repair and replacement rental costs in the tens of thousands of dollars.

(Lincoln, NE)- The Nebraska State Patrol is looking for information that may help locate a person of interest in conjunction with a traffic crash on Highway 77 in Lancaster County.

At approximately 3:40 p.m., Wednesday, July 20, a semi trailer truck traveling south on Highway 77 swerved to avoid a brown pickup merging onto the highway from West O Street in Lincoln. The driver of the pickup went around another vehicle that was stopped waiting for traffic.

The semi driver swerved to try and avoid the pickup, striking the pickup’s rear quarter panel. The semi, then hit a bridge guard rail, went over the rail and landed on its side between two bridges at the north end of the Burlington Northern rail yard. The semi trailer caught fire and burned.

The driver of the pickup is described as a white male, in his mid-40’s, brown hair and approximately 5’7” tall. He was driving what was believed to be a brown Chevy or Ford pickup with a yellow possibly orange stripe down the side. There was also lettering, describe as a company name on the vehicle’s side in the same color as the stripe. The pickup which had a ladder rack may have damage to the driver’s side rear panel, behind the rear wheel.

Sometime between 8:30 am and 11:00 am on Friday, June 3rd, a significant amount of cash was taken from a ladies purse that was sitting in a motor vehicle in Wilber, NE.

Sometime during the night of Wednesday, May 25 or the morning of Thursday, May 26, two vehicles parked on a driveway in the 600 blk of W. 6th Street, Wilber, NE were damaged by an act of vandalism. Vehicles parked in the 600 blk of W. 2nd Street were also damaged the night of Thursday, May 26, or the morning of Friday, May 27.

(Peru, NE) – The investigation into the December 3, 2010 disappearance of Peru State College Student Tyler “Ty” Thomas continues as the organized search for her is suspended.

After extensive ground searches involving hundreds of volunteers, and trained search dogs, and an exhaustive search of the Missouri River, with the assistance of the Missouri Water Patrol, Thomas remains missing.

“We have exhausted all of our search efforts at this point,” said Nemaha County Sheriff Brent Lottman. “We continue to aggressively investigate Ty’s disappearance and will resume searching should information become available.”

Thomas, 19, and a freshman at Peru State College, was reported missing at 3:00 am, Friday, Dec. 3, after attending an off-campus party in Peru. Authorities have arrested a person of interest in the case. On Wednesday, Dec. 8, Joshua Keadle, 29, was jailed in Nemaha County for Providing False Information, and Tampering with Evidence in connection with the investigation into Thomas’ disappearance.

The Nemaha County Sheriff’s Office is being assisted in the investigation by the Nebraska State Patrol (NSP), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Otoe County Sheriff’s Office, Nebraska City Police Department, as well as Team Adam from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Sheriff Lottman said, “If anyone feels they have information that could aid in the investigation, please contact the Sheriff’s Office.”

The Nebraska State Patrol, Madison County Sheriff’s Department, Norfolk Police Department, and the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department continue to work together to investigate the disappearance and death of Lacey Anderson. These area law enforcement agencies are asking the public’s cooperation in providing any information surrounding the disappearance and death of Lacey Anderson. Anderson was last seen on August 23, 2009 while in the Norfolk area and was reported missing on August 26th. Her body was found Saturday, November 14th, in Pierce County.
