Large quantity of prescription drugs taken in burglary

On Thursday morning May 26, 2016, the Chadron Police Department was called to Petersen Drug, in Chadron, in reference to a burglary. Unknown suspect(s) gained entry to the building by cutting a large hole into the tin, of the east wall, located in the alley. A large quantity of pharmaceutical drugs were taken; valued at approximately $24,000.00 (wholesale value). Drugs such as Fentanyl, Morphine, Hydrocodone, Vicodin, OxyContin, Tramadol, Adderall and Alprazolam were taken from the pharmacy.

“These drugs have a street value of approximately $70,000.00. They are dangerous and we are very concerned about them hitting the streets. Drugs such as Vicodin, OxyContin or other stimulants such as Adderall are common prescription drugs of abuse. I am asking for the public’s help in solving this crime,” says Lt. Rick Hickstein.
