(Lincoln, NE)- The Nebraska State Patrol is looking for information that may help locate a person of interest in conjunction with a traffic crash on Highway 77 in Lancaster County.
At approximately 3:40 p.m., Wednesday, July 20, a semi trailer truck traveling south on Highway 77 swerved to avoid a brown pickup merging onto the highway from West O Street in Lincoln. The driver of the pickup went around another vehicle that was stopped waiting for traffic.
The semi driver swerved to try and avoid the pickup, striking the pickup’s rear quarter panel. The semi, then hit a bridge guard rail, went over the rail and landed on its side between two bridges at the north end of the Burlington Northern rail yard. The semi trailer caught fire and burned.
The driver of the pickup is described as a white male, in his mid-40’s, brown hair and approximately 5’7” tall. He was driving what was believed to be a brown Chevy or Ford pickup with a yellow possibly orange stripe down the side. There was also lettering, describe as a company name on the vehicle’s side in the same color as the stripe. The pickup which had a ladder rack may have damage to the driver’s side rear panel, behind the rear wheel.
